French, Russians score gold at World Cup
Mickael Bourgain of France has reportedly won the sprint final at the World Cup track cycling meet in Sydney, beating Kevin Sireau 2-0. Chris Hoy of Britain took the bronze medal with a 2-0 win over Gregory Bauge of France 2-0. In the women's pursuit final, the Russian team comprising Eugeniya Romanyuta, Olga Slyusareva and Anastasiay Chulkova beat Australia's Belinda Goss, Katie Mactier and Josephine Tomic, while world champion Victoria Pendleton of Britain won the keirin ahead of Jennie Reed of the United States and Natalia Tsylinskaya of Belarus.
