Seattle cyclists unhappy over street car tracks
Roadies in Seattle are concerned that new street car tracks on Westlake Avenue could be a trap for their bikes since the tyres they use are narrower than the 1.75" groove that holds a street car wheel. If a bicycle veers into that gap, it can easily get stuck, pitching the rider onto the street. Bike activists are planning a wheeled protest to show their displeasure even though Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels is campaigning to triple bicycle use in the city. More
